Huron Helping Hand Food Pantry provides food to help the hungry of Huron, Berlin Heights and the entire 44839 zip code area. It helps low-income families, single moms, the unemployed, elderly, physically disabled and others during hard times. Visit or call Lighthouse Church during distribution hours to find out if you qualify. A number of Huron churches help us by collecting food along with Huron school food drives. We provide dry goods, canned goods, frozen meats, household items and health and beauty aids. During distribution hours, families or individuals can sign up for our monthly food distribution program. Items are provided once a month at no cost.

The Salvation Army Huron Unit serves Huron and the communities in the 44839 ZIP code. Other ZIP codes are served by other Salvation Army Units. We provide help to families and individuals related to past due (disconnect notice) utility bills, prescription drugs and other qualifying bills. We help people once or twice a year depending on our funding for that year. A helping hand is available to individuals between jobs, young families struggling to pay bills, single mom or dads that cannot make ends meet, the elderly and physically disabled that cannot work. All of our workers are volunteers. |
